You can wire the old analog alarm door and window sensor to the TTL inputs, each zone takes one TTL input, so you don't have to rewire the house again.
I was thinking about that. It should be very simple to convert to my alarm. I already have a TTL-to-Relay board.
It has four 10A 125vac relays and should be able to handle making noise and lighting status LEDs.
The only problem I see is the battery backed-up power supply. Need to bring the 12V battery down to about 8V.

Feed the 5V directly to the board's 5V power. Please make sure not reverse the polarity, since just connected wrong for just a second will burn out the CPU and all the IC.
