Z-Wave Frustration

So I had a few lights without neutrals so I figured z-wave was the way to go. Picked up a few Intermatic switches and a starter kit. Plugged in the ThinkStick, captured my devices in the HA09 remote and transferred them to the TinkStick. All worked fine.

The end goal is to have these devices controlled by my HAI panel, so... I needed a serial controller. Intermatic doesn't seem to have a serial controller so I picked up the Vizia RF VRC0P. Since my remote is the primary controller I tried to capture the Vizia serial controller into that network (HA09). Doesn't work. The Intermatic HA09 and Vizia won't sync.

Does anyone know if these 2 devices are incomaptible? I did reset the Vizia to factory defaults several times assuming it may have had a network id lodged in there somewhere but still no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know the HA09 does not support the VRC0P. You said that you have a ThinkStick though, If you have ThinkEssentials PRO, you should be able to setup the VRC0P with that.

Hey Barry,

Thanks for the reply. Setting up Z-Wave for the first time has been a nightmare, especially since I'm only trying to solve a few "no neutral" light problems. Believe it or not, the only way I was able to get it to work was to add several USB extenders to the thinkstick to reach the lights in question as well as the serial controller. I then transferred control to the serial controller and have a somewhat working solution.

I think the lesson here is to stick with one manufacturer for Z-Wave despite boasts of interoperability.
