Z Wave Thermostat Control - ELK M1, Honeywell TH8320ZW1000

Bought Honeywell Z Wave thermostat with hopes to switch thermostat in energy saving mode when system is armed. Rule configured in ELK M1 did put thermostat in "Temporary Hold" mode at desired temperature. However, switching it back into Programming mode when system is disarmed was not possible. The only option available in M1 is to set it to another temperature. It seems like I have to use M1 to run the heat/cool schedule, with this I will loose fan auto circulation mode (run ~35% of the time). Did anyone faced the same issue? Are there any ASCII text strings I could send to the controller to remove M1 "hold" on the thermostat?

Thank you.

All HA thermostats controlled by Elk M1 suffer from the same problem. You will have to forgo in-thermostat scheduling and instead have Elk manage the HVAC schedule. You will need to read the manual to determine how to disable scheduling feature.

You ElkRP tasks section will most likely have a 4-5 different thermostat profiles such as night-time, enter-home, at-work, weekend, etc… Each of these tasks trigger based on some input event (time of day, alarm status, occupancy).

From reading manual, you will have to use advanced functions procedure from page 12. The "Non-programmable option" should not prevent M1XSLZW from controlling the thermostat.
