I use the Aeon Smart Strip (Z-Wave) on things I may need to power cycle remotely (like an internet modem). It has 4 individually controllable switchable outlets (which also monitor energy use):

This is paired with a Vera as the Z-Wave controller to control the outlets and monitor energy use.
For non-switched outlets, I like this unit:

The unit above can mounted in a standard 19" rack, or something like this adapter for wall use:

While a lot of steel, the power plugs also stay flush against the wall vs sticking out.
