Premise Lantronix WiBox: Wireless Two Port Servial Device Server

Does anyone have a power supply for one of these and tell me what it puts out? I have two of these I picked up with no power supplies and it looks like they take anything from 9-20v at 2amps from what I can tell and I'm looking for the specs or a decent priced source for a power supply for them...

Caddx NX8E connecting with bluetooth com port

Most of the Serial Bluetooth devices require the device they connect to to have a full RS232 implementing supporting CTS/RTS handshaking. That means "3-wire" type serial ports (Send/Recv/Gnd) won't work unless you create a custom cable (or use a breakout box or similar) to loop pins 7 and 8 back...

    Dell XPS All-in-one PC - $599

I'm told if you remove the stand it is a VESA mounting, my company has one on order for some testing so I'll check when it arrives. We also ordered the MSI Wind Top AE1900 All-In-One touchscreen at $529 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16883152005 to compare (and see if it is...

    CADDX NX-8E system advice

Hi, I'm considering putting an NX-8E into property I will be renting. The reason for the NX-8E choice is because it already has a CQC driver and I'm looking to use that to be able to trigger CQC events later. Since it is a rental, pretty much everything outside the closet will need to be...

    iAutomate response...

Only thing I can tell you is that when the battery gets low you tend to get bad IDs received so if you watch for "unknown" ids being received then it may be an indication one of the devices has a low battery. The CQC driver I wrote just ignores the bad IDs and increments an error counter.

Well, this type of thing definitely increases my respect for SimpleHomeNet :)

New to Home Automation & Vista MCE Integration

The solution hooks into Vista Media Center as both an event handler and a background module (it does require Vista). This means that it can monitor everything that would have been sent to a front-panel display (this includes what menu you are on, what mode MCE is in, what is playing or...

New to Home Automation & Vista MCE Integration

No, just had to focus on getting the INSTEON PLM driver out the door for the 2.2 release and I've limited resources to spread around! ;) As jkmonroe and the other few testers can attest, my CQC Vista MCE driver is stable. There are a number of feature requests which will come in the future...

    The New Smarthome Blog

I live in hope. Extended messaging is part of the INSTEON specifications and those products not implementing it IMHO are broken and non-compliant. I was informed now that the new PLM, AccessLinc and RemoteLinc all support extended messaging that "revised" products that support extended messages...

    The New Smarthome Blog

:P Seriously... You expect an more factual statement like "because we've proven we aren't capable of managing our own product schedule or releasing products without bugs (or even that follow our own specifications), it is company policy not to discuss any product before it is made available for...

    The New Smarthome Blog

Well, that would explain it then. Might have been worth stating that up front :-) Now I can tell you why this is worse than the old feed, that is because the blog RSS feed only provides snippets of the text, and the old RSS feed provided the full rich media content. If I subscribe to a blog I...

    The New Smarthome Blog

Wow, it is a "blog" except it is just full of product blurb with the same content as the old RSS feed. Guess if you can't innovate, you just rename the old stuff. Not impressed.

    Insteon PLC reliability issues

Unfortunately, the PLC does not natively do cleanups (well, not entirely true, it didn't do cleanups, then they added code to do cleanups which needed a different method of activating it but then we found out there was a bug in the cleanup code anyway which meant it would only work properly with...
