I ran into a problem trying to use a 1/8 mono cable to connect the output of my Xantec 789-44 repeater block. I assumed I could connect directly to the ocelot IR 'in' port from the ir 'hub.' When I make this connection the Ocelot wont boot. No lights nothing..

It is not a phase issue. I have checked that. Have you actually played a SACD or DTS/DVD audio source on your system? I am clearly not the only person having this problem. Some new decks even have compensation for this..

I used these guys to solve that problem. You can send 4 audio signals over one cat5 cable. The sound quality is surprisingly decent. You can also send video and digital (coax only). I have 2 100'+ runs working great.
