www.codecoretechnologies.com websites will be retired on June 29th, 2019

Is there any way you could make the driver development documentation and online manual available to download?

Google's parent company is disabling old smart home devices

Exactly correct. I will never buy anything that relies on the cloud. Something that the cloud can add additional features to? Maybe. But if it requires a connection to someone else's servers? Never.

WiFi bathroom scale with API that is not on the internet

I did find these:   https://www.beurer.com/web/en/products/weight/diagnostic_scales/BF-480-USB https://www.beurer.com/web/en/products/beurer-connect/HealthManager-Products/BG-64   They are USB, so I would have to figure out some way to get USB to ethernet from my bathroom.   There is no API that...

WiFi bathroom scale with API that is not on the internet

My sentiments exactly. I refuse to buy anything that relies on someone else's servers to function. I'd rather do without.   Matt

WiFi bathroom scale with API that is not on the internet

I didn't look too deeply at the scale I mentioned, but from what I saw when you stand on it and it weighs you and does all the other stuff it does it automatically uploads that to their cloud. What I want is instead of uploading it to the cloud send it on my network. Then I can write code to...

WiFi bathroom scale with API that is not on the internet

No it will work, but the data isnt directly available to me from the scale. It's uploaded to the cloud then their api connects to their cloud to retrieve what data they provide. I want nothing going to the cloud and everything local to my network. That's getting harder and harder to do.   Matt

WiFi bathroom scale with API that is not on the internet

I wondered if anyone knew of a bathroom scale with an API that can be used locally without uploading the data to the cloud. I found the Withings scale and it has an API, but it's connecting to their servers to get the data, not directly from the scale. I do not want to upload data to the cloud...

Anyone interested in discussing building DIY Home Automation software and hardware?

@NeverDie   I don't really have any documentation, this was just an effort for myself. And it's an effort that is ongoing for long periods of time with long breaks in between. I expect it's the same for a lot of things everyone is doing on here. ^_^   Matt

Anyone interested in discussing building DIY Home Automation software and hardware?

I've been using a hybrid approach to automation. I decided on an architecture where I write an interface to a device that runs as a service and broadcasts data using MQTT. Within this interface, there is an object that talks to the hardware and provides the data to a wrapper that handles the...

    New style LED bulbs

This is what I put in. It was a direct replacement for what was already in there, except 4 watts instead of 25. It does provide a bit more light, butthat's actually good. The 25 watt light didn't really reach the bottom shelf very well.  ...

    New style LED bulbs

I just got one of these types of bulbs for a curio cabinet to replace a 25 watt bulb with a 4 watt (40 watt equivalent) LED bulb. I love the thing. It really looks like a regular bulb, the light is nice, you can't tell the difference between it and the incandescent it replaced. I have not tried...

vcr0p + vm + elve + serial port server not connecting

I couldn't get the VCR0P to work with the Qualtech so I got a serial port bracket and connected it to the serial port header on the motherboard. Then I attached the serial port to the VM and it's working now. Now I'm fighting with ZWave and I find it 100% frustration. X-10 may be old and...

    On Edge - House Burglarized

I didn't see where in ElkRP you can set this up. This is a great idea and I want to implement this. Can you point me in the right direction?   Matt
