16/2 - Can I double up the wires with 18/4?

So I need to pre-wire for power to drapes.  I believe I need 16/2 to the corner of each drape location.  Can I run 18/4 and use two wires for each 'leg' to get the equivalent (or a bit better) to 16/2?

Thanks!

Not a good practice as if one of the legs would break somehow, you will overload the other.

What is the actual current draw? I believe 18 g is around 15 amps max (double check on that).

I'm not sure yet what is going to be used for the drapery motors.  I decided to play it safe and run some 14/2 speaker wire I had available.  Thanks for the help!
