3.6 wide vs. 6.0 camera

I'm looking at a coulple of cameras one has a standard 6.0 lense and the other is listed as a 3.6 wide angle.

The wide angle sounds nice but there must be pros and cons to both. Let me know your opinions.

Thanks Wayne. That's very interesting. The steeples in the picture look a lot farther away with the wide angle vs. the standard lenses. It would appear that the wide angle is for shorter viewing distances. If someone has had a wide angle let me know if you have any complaints.
