I would think you could automate most fireplaces using an I/O type module. If you want me to, I can check with my contact for more details tho.

Nahh, I just wanted to see what was offered. Most places state Z-Wave enabled Blinds...but they only offer a module that would control your already purchased motorized blinds...

So, I assume the same thing about the fireplace as you said. It's probably just a relay module that replaces the "contact" switch that's generally provided with higher cost fireplaces.

I know for my house, the one in the master bedroom would really be AWESOME to have automated...but the unit's cost prohibited anything but manual.

No those were the old clamps on the Aeon Energy Meters. The new one shipped out today according to Aeon.

Finally got a response regarding the location of that micro module:
"The micros are actually supposed to be fit in the gang boxes behind the light switches. Bending the antenna will not necessarily cause problems, it may even improve range. Bending the antenna, from my understanding simply changes the pattern of radiation distance."
