Automate RF remote?

I've just purchased motorized shades. During construction, we pre wired to control shades with ir blasters. We actually ended up purchasing RF controlled shades.

I would like to automate the opening and closing,but unlike IR I haven't found a way to copy an RF signal.

Does anyone know of a way to automate an RF signal?

Do you have handheld remote control? If you have an extra remote, you can take that apart and wire it up to devices that can control it.

I agree with fwd03, the best way to interface with RF devices is by opening the remote and adding a relay across the button contacts

Shoot. I do have the remote but it has 4 channels. I guess the only way to make it work is to get 4 remotes, 1 for eachfor each channel.

No that could also be automated depending on how the "channels" are configured. With more relays you might be able yo switch channels too

What brand/make/model blinds did you go with? Most have provisions for some sort of connection to an automation system and may make a transmitter just for integration.
