Automation for garage fan

What adapter connected to your elk do you use to control them?

The XTB-IIR ( http://jvde.us//xtb/XTB-IIR_description.htm ) plugs directly into the Elk with a standard RJ-11 phone cord and produces the X-10 signals. For me it's been rock solid.

What is the best way to install the xtb II r.

The XTB-IIR wires directly into your breaker box through a double pole breaker. It needs to "see" both phases of your service panel and also draws it's power from this connection.

If running a alarm cable from Elk to garage is possible, then RelayInBox is possibility (if you already have a M1TZ). I purchased a RelayInBox from Functionaldevices to automate my attic fan (http://www.functionaldevices.com/building-automation/).I have not hooked it up yet, but it should work correctly. I already have theprerequisite Elk M1TZ temp sensors (inside/outside). I am having a little difficulty right nowwith Elk temperature sensor accuracy.
