Haiku Backing up Haiku data and copying it to other devices

One of the things I really like about iRule for the ipad is that all of my configuration is done online and then downloaded to each device. I just went and configured my 22 cameras on one iPad but I have two more to do. Also I have about another 15 or so cameras to do on all of them. It is pretty tedious work. I was hoping there was some simple way to set this up (with haiku helper maybe?) to download or get its configuration. Each ipad is configured differently so backing up and restoring isn't really an option...

I guess I could hack the three ipads and then copy files over if someone was willing to tell me which file is the config but while I don't mind two of them - my everyday ipad I woudl prefer to leave stock (which has the 22 cameras properly configured)

Thanks!

Neil

The databases between Haiku installs and HaikuHelper are interchangeable. The database name is Haiku.sql (note that HaikuHelper.sql also exists but that database belongs to HaikuHelper only). You can copy the database from one device to another easily using iTunes. Connect the device you want to copy from, select it in iTunes and go to the Apps tab, down at the bottom there will be a File Sharing section. Find Haiku in the list and drag out the Haiku.sql file to your Desktop (or any other folder).

Now to copy that database onto any other device, just do the reverse (drag the file into iTunes->Device->Apps->Haiku and overwrite the existing database, if any.

The plan is to eventually sync all devices using iCloud, but we're waiting for Apple to fix some iCloud issues first.

Just want to let you know I copied the file from one ipad to the other and it worked beautifully. Will the same file work between ipad and iphone app? Just curious.

Lastly if I could make a suggestion it would be to allow us to swipe left and right when viewing a camera so we could see the next one in line?

Thanks!

Yes, copying between any Haiku or HaikuHelper install will work, just ensure you have the latest version of Haiku/HaikuHelper on both the source and the destination device.

The swiping side to side suggestion is a good one, but we cannot really implement it because we use swipes, etc for PTZ control of cameras.

What about making butons for each camera in landscape more like mail is setup on an ipad. The cameras on the left as buttons and the viewing on the right? I guess just some way I don't have to go back to the listing but can switch through them. I use the everfocus app and it has numbers for the cameras but I like it all together in the one app with multiple dvrs. Keep up the great work!

Thanks,

Neil

Ok, so I changed my drive in the mini to and SSD and am moving everything over to it. I would like to migrate all the Helper setup to the new drive but I can't find haikuhelper.sql or any other config info anywhere on the old drive. What am I missing? How can I migrate the old Helper settings to new drive?

If you hold the OPTION key on your keyboard and then click on go you will see Library. You want to go there and then search for haikuhelp.sqlite and it should come up

Yea, I have all my files unhidden so that wasn't the issue. I saw in another thread the directory under App Support and copied that and it didn't work then in digging further I found the apparent pot of gold under the Containers directory. I copied that whole tree over and so far it looks like its working now.

Since the previous version of HaikuHelper, the location has changed to the Containers folder because HaikuHelper is now sandboxed.
