BC4 RS232

The rev2 BC4 has RS232 output, but no documentation of it.
 
Does this output the IR commands that I can then attach to my Sony DA3000ES? The Sony manual is pretty vague also but does mention power on and off, so I interpolate that it would also receive source and volume.

The serial port can be used to send ASCII or Hex commands to your device. Bitwise would need to have or you would have to create a serial driver for the device you want to control.
