Here is the progress on the Android front. My last post was 2 days before the release of Android 2.2 (Froyo). On October 1st v2.2 is running on 33.4% of active Android devices.
So, unfortunately, almost nothing has changed. Back in May the upcoming v2.2 enhancements were well known and even now they are not broadly available. This is disappointingly slow progress. In contrast Apple has released 3 major iOS releases over the same timeframe.
I did perform some test ports back in August. Migrating the core features that make eKeypad great on the iPhone simply required a tremendously large level of effort. One of the unconfirmed features of Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) is a user interface revamp. I am looking forward to this enhancement and will revisit an eKeypad port again when this enhancement is released.
