Connecting M1G to monitored service

I am ready to connect panel for monitoring and want to perhaps try a monitoring company and use 1st the phone communications and later add a cell or wireless type monitoring.

Is there a good place to look and start getting this in place ? Can I do this in a few hours time ?

I also read I might have to notify my local police dept for monitoring permit?

You can find alot if you search here, but have a look at Next Alarm, they are pretty popular here.

I beleive that NEXTALARM still offers a free or very inexpensive non reporting to the police etc service (they notify your cell phone) that you can try and get your feet wet and any kinks out. Then after a few weeks etc you can upgrade to full service if you want.

Looks like "Free" now equals $11.95 per month.

I am going to add one more vote for nextalarm, been using them for one year now without one single problem.

Anyone have any experience with Alarm Relay (alarmrelay.com)? This is same the company that Home Security Store re-sells through their site ... monitoring.homesecuritystore.com.

Seems like an even more affordable option.

Also - does anyone have any experience with devices like this ... http://monitoring.homesecuritystore.com/wi..._monitoring.htm (wireless connection to the monitoring station)? ... I think I've seem some conversation mentioning the devices, but can't remember if anyone had any preferences.

About the Uplink, I looked at the sign up (registration) page and it looks like I can't hook up Uplink myself.

But it does look nice, though.
