Happy 4th of July!

Can someone please confirm that I can hook up the WPT-3000 to an Elk M1 Gold? I have been reading up and only found a post which hinted that this would work. So how will this work?

In the manual for the WPT-3000 it states that it has a Channel 1 with 12V output. I assume this is to be used?

I do not like the wireless, I have two conduits that go to the driveway from the house that provide power & Cat5 at the driveway (approx. 160 ft). Is there a similar (simpler) system that is just hardwired and that I can plug in to the Elk?

Here the layout from an earlier post:

The receiver for the WPT-3000, which I believe is a WR-3000, has Form-C relay contacts for each channel.  These are what you should use to connect it to the ELK M1 as a zone input.  Don't use the 12V output from the receiver - the M1 won't work with that as an input.

It doesn't appear that it directly performs the contact closure, but the 12V outputs can drive a Form C relay; one of the little Elk individual relays would work well or probably even just regular ol' automotive relays.

I'd strongly recommending any system used for monitoring the driveway be isolated from the M1 with relays or similar and wired as a NO circuit.
