Databus hub wiring?

I have two of the M1DBH's in my elk setup. Last night I tried to enroll a second keypad which is connected to the second DBH and it could not be found. The address is set to #2. I then put it on my first DBH and the enrollment worked fine. I put it back on the second DBH and it lost comms again.

I have 1 Keypad and 7 expanders on DBH #1 and am trying to add a couple additional keypads to DBH #2. I used the shorted connector in slot 3 of DBH #2 as it was the first unused slot.

Not sure what's wrong, some questions i have:

Do both databus hubs require power run to them or does the second DBH get power from the first via jumper cable? (right now i only powered the first one)

I used a standard straight through cat5 cable as my jumper between the two DBH's is that correct? I also tested that cable with a fluke net tester and looks okay.

What am i doing wrong?

The Cat5 cable from one M1DBH to another is a crossover cable.

Well there's the problem. I suspected as much but was afraid to mess with it till i heard otherwise. All the manuals refer to a "jumper" cable which is supposed to be included somewhere. I couldn't find any jumper cable so I guessed it was a straight through.

Thanks,
Kyle
