Dimmable lighting over & under cabinets

Here's one shot from the HomeSeer message board showing under lower cabinate lighting.

Cannot see pictures unless I log in as a member. Appears the pictures are for rope lighting.
I intend to use rope lights for above cabinet lights since they are just for effect. However, I do not think my wife will accept them under the cabinets since their output is so low which makes them limited use for task lights.

I just bought these from Lowes, and they really are bright enough to replace those really hot halogen ones Home Depot/Lowes sell. The unit is also very slim, so it's easy to hide. The catch? 60 bucks per unit ;) I only bought 1, since I wanted to see how well these work, and if I can get something cheaper online, but looks like only Lowes sells there.

weren't you the one that was doing the rope lighting? That's the direction I was heading. Rope lighting is a lot cheaper I think, but those LED's sure don't use a lot of the juice...

Is the LED light acceptable warmness? Or does it not really matter when you're talking undercabinet?

I do use rope lighting (and won't remove it, because it looks so nice), but I use it as accent lighting. It's useful if you want to go get something out of the kitchen quickly, but for actual cooking marathons, my wife uses a 2nd set of halogen lighting. The LED fixture is bright, but it's a white color, so I guess you could say the color isn't as 'warm'.

Ranger Digital, do you have any experience with those? They look pretty interesting. Guess I'll need to find a local retailer that carries there.

I can not find anyone else carrying these GE LED cabinet lights. I can't find them on the GE site either, and can't find any reviews. Has anyone ever tried these?

OT, but anyone have a good idea for a clothes closet light that isn't fluorescent?

I read that the 2008 NEC states that some LED's may be OK:

Section II. Luminaire Locations
410.16 Luminaires in Clothes Closets. This is a new change; surface-mounted or clothes-rod type fluorescent luminaires, or LED luminaires that are listed and identified for the use are now permitted to be installed within clothes closets, including storage spaces.

I can't find any LED luminaires/fixtures that are 'listed and identified for use [in a clothes closet]', other than 1 LED strip light that I believe is just marketed differently, from the 'Improvements Catalog':

I don't think this product is listed for closet use by the manufacturer, just the retailer.
