Distribute 5.1 surround sound from multiple sources

(sorry Tuck), the analog sunset is upon us.

Oh agreed Anthony and it sucks, lol. I still would go component and add cat5's for future HDMI baluns for later upgrades if desires. Audio formats really dont matter if you just want left an right audio anyways, right? Matters for surround sound.

Nice,
My integrator recommends the Video Storm products. I think the 4x4 one is $799 and can be expandable. I think what we are going to do is just run straight Component + L/R to the TV's I know I'm gonna have, and just the Cat5e to TV locations that I might put TV's later, then we can just use the Baluns like you said!

Right now I'd rather pay $30 for a nice 30ft Component cable rather than $200 plus for a Balun, that also uses more electricity.

Hmm, well if its only 30 foot that changes things a bit IMO. Premade component cables are pretty cheap. Assumed runs were longer, 30 foot is pretty short. Still would do a cat5 and balun. But thats just me. 1 cable vs five. And a nice, clean, in wall install.

By the way, the Snap AV component baluns dont use electricity (you dont plug them into a power outlet).
