Elk EZ8 Honeywell Wireless Can't get my Honeywell keyfob to work

I had this working, but now I can't get it to work.

Elk EZ8 panel with the Honeywell wireless.
I have some motion sensors working fine on the wireless.

I manually enrolled and used the ELKRP software.

When I press a keyfob button I get a chime at the keypad.
Thats it.

I cannot set or disarm the alarm system with the keyfob.

Any suggestions?

On Honeywell systems, you have to assign the key fob to a user for the arm/disarm functions to work. I'm not sure how you'd do that on an Elk though.

It could be the High Security mode then. Honeywell started shipping the fobs in high security mode. If you press and hold all buttons except for the top left for 5 seconds, the light should start flashing green when pressed and it should start working.

I have the light flashing green.
I just get a beep at my keypad.
So the Elk knowns when a button is pressed.
The button is just not doing anything.

This might be an Elk program issue?

Did you map the fob buttons to a valid user code that has a valid 4-digit user number programmed in? What zone type did you use for each fob button zone?

Okay, well I would try another user then. Perhaps there's something about user 1 on the Elk that makes it not play nice with the fobs?

Any Elk users around to chime in on the issue?

What is the sound, is it a chime or is it the error tone?

Are you trying to arm while something is faulted?

Check the log?

DEL,   you always seem to have an answer.

The beep was a typical keypad beep, not the error one.

I could not manually set my alarm either.
I have a motion sensor error that would not allow me to set it.
I disabled the motion, now I can set the alarm with the keyfob.
