Hi everybody,

I'm in the process to make some email changes to my M1 and for some reason I'm getting an error messages. I already have my M1 sending me emails and all work well but for some reason when I try to add extra message in the email tab of the M1XEP setup I get the below message:

The Static IP Address and Default Gateway are not in the same subnet as defined by the Subnet Mask. Why would I get this message when adding new messages but my existing emails rules are currently firing correctly?

Please help leaving on vacation in a few and would like to solve this. Thanks :)

The XEP isn't the sharpest pencil in the toolbox.

What are your settings for IP, subnet, and gateway?

Put them on the same subnet or correct the mask and carry on!!  You are likely getting this message now because you messed with the static IP after creating the initial messages.

If I only had a dime every time someone had a post like this.

The m1 email is just plain flaky.

And no, you should not need to reboot.  Just hit "send".  I also like to hit "receive" after the "send" just to confirm that the settings are as expected.

One potential source of your problem is as follows:

Unlike the settings for the m1 itself, the xep settings aren't checked for conflicts when you first connect with rp2.

If it so happens that you ever made any changes to the settings via some other method than that computers rp2, then those changes will not be reflected in what you see when you run rp2.  Then, when you send it, you will be sending all the settings as they are on your computer, which may result in unintended changes.  I always like to hit "receive" prior to doing any work on the xep just to make certain that my rp2 and the xep are synced.

But still, xep email is flaky.  Sometimes it just doesn't like a certain email port or server or whatever even though it is supposed to.  And sometimes email settings it doesn't like won't just throw an error but will crash the whole xep and cause a reboot.

Looks like the IP address was wrong. I hit the "find" option and used the IP address found. In the past I had a issue with my computer and I must have selected the wrong IP address but everything is back to normal now and my new rules are firing correctly.

Thanks guys.
