ELK M1 Rules Question

Hi, I have just installed an M1 Gold and have a question re the sequencing of the rules.

I have a rule something like this.

------------
Whenever any alarm, any area turns on
then Strobe (output 3) on
then Dial Cell Phone (123456789) and Announce Alarm (vm302)
------------

When I trigger an alarm this is what happens

1. Internal speaker sounds alarm sound
2. Violation announcement occurs
3. Then everything goes quiet
4. My cell rings, I answer and acknowledge (press #)
5. Then the alarm sound continues

My question is a) Is this normal and :) is there a way to do what I want but not have the pause while the cell phone is contacted ?

** Note I currently dont have an external siren or internal piezo siren set up - Just using speaker.

Thanks for any help

Ahh good point !

Sorry - I dont want the alarm to go quiet while it rings the cell phone.

If I dont answer the cell phone the alarm does not sound for about 60 secs (while it goes to voicemail). This happens for intrusion, emergency and fire alarms.

I would like the phone to ring and the alarm to happen in parallel.

Cheers

This has been discussed here before. There is only one voice on the M1. It can speak on output 1 (speaker) or on the telephone, but not both at the same time. Many people have noticed this characteristic and thought something was wrong, but this is the way it is designed. There is nothing wrong.

If you want the alarm to continue while output 1 is connected to the telephone, you can hook up a siren to output 2. Output 2 will not stop, but then there is no voice on it, just a siren.

Or, you can do the opposite and just send yourself an email or something(requires M1XEP) and let the alarm keep speaking.
