I have M1G which I access from homeseer using serial cable from plugin. Everytime I want to wok on M1 rules through ELKRP, I have to disable the serial connection from the plugin. Will the XEP give me the ability to make changes to work on ELKRP without disconnecting from the plugin. Thanks

Maybe... depends upon the plugin. I use the XEP and am able to do that with Electron's my.elk script. The XEP allows multiple data connections, but only one RP connection. Therefore, your plugin has to deal with its dataflow stopping when you connect with ElkRP and then the dataflow resuming when you exit ElkRP. So my HomeSeer is essentially offline from the M1 when using ElkRP, but I don't have to do anything to HomeSeer, I just have to remember to disconnect ElkRP when I am done. And I think Electron even wrote something that would force ElkRP to drop its connection if HomeSeer thought ElkRP was connected for too long, via a script.

If you are using the UltraM1G HomeSeer plug-in, then the answer is yes. The plug-in receives a notification from the Elk M1XEP when you connect or disconnect using the ELKRP. Once you disconnect, the plug-in resumes normal operation.
