ELK-M1XRFTW Installation

Somewhat confused on the wiring of the M1XRFTW (ELK wireless transceiver). Can it be home run wired with Cat5 to the M1DBH (Data Bus Hub)?

I haven't looked at that model specifically, but I have looked at the one for Honeywell. That's exactly how I understood that it could be wired... as a databus device.

That is my understanding of how it works.

Why did you go with the Elk and not the Honeywell or GE one?  I like the 2-way capability of the Elk, but you're pretty limited on your sensor selection with that thing.

Just personal preference I guess. I wanted to keep the system entirely an ELK system. Only need the mini window sensors, everything else is hardwired.

[Hoping Spanky is reading this]... what I'd really like to see from Elk would be some outdoor contacts ;-)

That's about the only thing right now that would keep me in the Honeywell camp in terms of wireless sensors. Sure, I know people have 'weatherized' other contacts. I wouldn't mind doing that for my own system, but wouldn't want to do that for someone else.

Alarmperson, did you get it installed? I'm tackling this weekend and have the same set up. Was it difficult and was implementing via the RP software straightforward?

Look at the installation instructions for the DBH and wire it the same as a keypad.

Mike.
