ELK RP2

Hi everybody,

I'm having some issues accessing my ELK from my PC. I needed to change the motherboard on my laptop and now when I re-downloaded the ELK RP2 program I don't seem to have access to my old ELK account/file. Do I really need to restart everything or is their a way for me to re-access my existing account?

I really need help on this.

If I understand your post correctly, you deleted the ELK RP2 database on your laptop. To recover the database from the ELK panel, start a new account in ELK RP2, enter your serial number, ELK M1 IP address, and RP access code. After you connect, you will be prompted to download the account database from the panel.

Thank you for the reply. I was able to find all my rules and zones however, all the information I had entered in the M1XEP Setup section are no longer saved. Do I need to re-enter all that or is their a way to find the info again?

I also noticed the IP address of my ELK M1 changed. When I select the FIND button it will find my ELK M1, all my rules are there but all the other tabs are empty. How do I solve this? Your help is appreaciated

I tried the received button and did change anything. Should I be re-entering all the information? I cant believe I lost everything. Now that my ELK M1 ip is different if I try to enter the old ip address I cant connect to the ELK. My Ekeypad all also stop working now.

Why would the IP address change?

In additional to the above post, when I try to connect to the ELK using my computer, I now get a message saying my default gateway address and ip address are not in the same range unless I put the gateway address to 0.0.0.0

Something changed, most likely on your router, etc. and the XEP was set for DHCP so it was assigned another IP by your router.

Assuming a power cycle or similar was done on your hardware, which caused reassignment of the IP's on your LAN.

Easiest, barring being able to locate the XEP on the local network using the tool, would be to go into your router's settings and see the IP pool, some of the better ones allow you to see MAC's so you should be able to determine the IP your XEP is "at", then follow the instructions for the XEP and then your router to move forward.

You can use DHCP for an XEP, however you need to make sure that IP address is always going to be "reserved" for the XEP, which sounds like it wasn't in your case.

How about giving a little back in return for all of the help you were given? How did you end up solving your problems?

Well I wasn't able to get all my info but what I did was re-enter the new IP address I found when selecting the find button and simply re-entered all the information in the M1EXP setup. I was able to find my old note and new what information I needed to add. I wish I could have simply get all my info back but, it's setup up now so that's goid
