ELK: Usage of Non alarm zone and EOL?

WAF took a dip today when i register two new zones as Key ON/OFF zones. Within a few seconds, the mrs. intercomed me and asked why the alarm was arming. Oops !!!

So basically what i want is this:
- two switches hooked to zones in the elk
- two relays on the M1ZOVR feeding 24VAC to two contactors i have hooked to my compressor and another 240V outlet for dust collector / other tools
- two LEDs hooked to low voltage outs (also on the M1XOVR) for status indication (on same wall mount panel i have for the switches)

Looks like i can easily do this by classing the zone as Non-alarm. However given that i've got Power tools involved, i'm wondering if rather than open/closed, i should go to EOL supervised so that in the unlikely shorting of the wire while i'm changing a saw blade, etc (ok, ya i should unplug it anyway, but...) But if non-alarms are not logged, doesn't activate alarms ( as per M1 doc), how would i know of an EOL trouble violation on such a zone? What if such a short does happen, would a rule for this zone fire based on a condition of closed... (the rules only allow for secure/non-secure)

thx

Try setting it up as a aux zone.

no audible alarm output or keypad indication provided. It is displayed in the event log. A Whenever/And/Then rule
