ELKM1 - AutoArm by rule issue

I've ran into a funny issue (well ... not so funny, since it compromises the integrity of my perimeter security):

I used to have a rule in HomeSeer that auto armed my Elk to stay mode whenever someone came home, disarmed the panel during an entry delay ... it is just a nice feature that make sure that the alarm is always armed.

The only reason why I did it in HS was that I hadn't really used the rules in Elk yet. Wanting to make the action more bullet proof, I disabled the event in HS and set up a rule through ElkRP for my M1 (fw 5.1.4). I have attached the rule ... but the problem I'm having is that instead of arming the system as usual, it places the garage door in bypass mode and even after it's closed it doesn't secure.

I have my garage door set as Burglar/Exit 2 and force armable, which lets me arm the system with the door open, spend as much time as I want exiting the garage (ignoring the exit timer) and once the garage door closes it secures the zone. This has worked fine with the HS rule, and works fine if I try it manually. Now, when I enter my code, it disarms, then arms in stay, but with the garage door bypassed. Since it's force armable that would've worked fine if it released the bypass once the door was secure .. but that doesn't happen.

Anyone else run into this?

not sure but I beleive it is the same issue we reported here... link

I actually thought that one had gotten fixed in a subsequent firmware update, but you're absolutely right ... definitely related. I just checked and my garage door is bypassable as well as force armable ... I'm not at home until the end of the week to check if it makes a difference if I take away the ability for the zone to be bypassed ... if the control assumes that a bypassable zone should be bypassed when you arm by rule, then this is definitely the same issue you guys were discussing 2 years ago ... hmmm

It does not have to be a bypassable zone if I remember correctly. It was discussed that the reason behind the issue may not be a bug at all. It was a semi-secure home is more secure then a non-secure one. if that sounds right...

Time to update to 5.1.8! ;)

An autoarm or remote arm command will hard bypass all violated zones and arm the control.

Ok ... I did have the firmware update on my todo list ...

Are you saying though that it won't matter? ... since an autoarm or remote arm command will always hard bypass a violated zone? Completely understand why it does this btw ... makes perfect sense ... I guess I'm just thinking that it would make sense if a force armeable zone would still secure itself

So I updated the firmware, but it still force bypasses any open zones, which then stays bypassed ... this seems to be the way you guys intended to have it work which makes sense.

However, is there another way to do what I'm trying to accomplish ... basically, if a valid user code is entered during an entry delay, it rearms the alarm in Stay mode ... which I find very usefull ...

BTW - for anyone who cares ... this was an easy fix ...

I added the following line to the end of the rule posted at the beginning of this thread:
"THEN UNBYPASS Garage Door (Zn6)" ... which also worked on my front door (which is not force armable)
