That is possible because I have both in my tool kit but I think that I used the correct red UR splice on the cat cable. My memory of it is that I used the red UR for 19 - 26 awg wire. I spliced the buried gel filled cat6 cable to indoor cat5e. I chose that splice because the wires that I was splicing were different thickness and it should have been.
