Gadspot and NO/NC?

I am interested in a dvr for my cameras and want it to trigger an event on homeseer when it detects motion. The manual states that the dvr will trigger a NO or NC relay when it records (motion detected). Could I hook this up to a ds-10 to notify homeseer about a recording alarm condition.
