Thinking the "edit of my own posts" relates to your membership and number of posts. Its here somewhere; but I couldn't find the verbiage.
If you post a drawing (rough) of your garage space; you will get plenty of suggestions relating to what you can do with it relating to automation.
The automation possibilities (means) and interactive mechanisms are endless and reasonably cost effective these days. Yeah here have multiple UPB switches in the garage and yup its a PITA to spend x per switch relating to automation. That said its the same with Insteon. You can start slow maybe with one Insteon switch for one set of lights maybe?. Over the years here added new HV circuits to the garage and subdivided what was already there a bit pulling wire back to the fuse panel (sort of a PITA; when really slow with this endeavor).
Here just recently migrated many UPB switches to dual load multi-toggle to reduce the footprint. WAF is good so far.
