Do you have your encryption key? Did you enter it? I haven't used one of HAI's "e" touch screens and didn't know that you could log into it via PC Access.

Im new to this all as well but recently setup an e screen. You have to set the two encryption keys (make sure you put in the hypens) also make sure you tell it where your controller is (it'll have a section for the controllers IP)

Yes my ip address are working fine.. And i did use all the hyphens and all to type them in. Does anyone know if the omni pro2 box has its own pre set encryption key or how i can get it.. Cause i cant get the touchscreens to wkr at all it keeps giving me the same error

Thanks for the help

You will definitly need the key. Its required whenever you want to connect to the system from something else (like a touch screen or an iphone app for example).

You can get the encryption key (there are two of them) by using your keypad (you actually need this key to also use the pc access software). Its on one of those menus, i forget in all honesty but its in one of the menus where it will display your network settings and the encryption key 1 and encryption key 2

Alright perfect i did find an encryption key in the pc access menu under networking!!! Do i need a console keypad also i dont have one because im not using the alarm portion of the omni right now..

«Thank you

Whered you get the keys from originally then, im assuming an installer/integrator? Because from what I know (and im new also) you need a keypad to read off the encryption keys the first time you installl the system, at least thats how i got them the first time in order to put them into pc access. But yeah thats what ya need, no need for a keypad if you have those encryption codes, as the keypad should show same #'s (and if pc access connects with those codes, your omnitouch will also)

OK, now I'm getting it. Yes, the encryption key is stored on the chip that resides in the OPII. If I understand correctly, you need the key for the "e" series touch screen to connect to the panel via Ethernet (as opposed to RS485). You will need the console to pull the encryption key from the setup menu. PC Access can read the key but cannot set it. Alternatively, you can use a non "e" series HAI touch screen to get it but that would be considerably more expensive than an OmniConsole.

oh i see yea i have all 5.7 screens so i will need to go get a console or keypad to get the number then. Thank you
