WL3 allows you to change your home's temperatures, adjust the lights or security settings, or view any supported camera securely and easily. WL3 automatically configures supported UPnP IP cameras on your home network and allows you to manually configure other IP cameras on your network or cameras that reside anywhere on the Internet. It also allows you to view cameras in your home of from public IP cameras around town, such as traffic and weather cameras.

Regardless of the brand of camera, the video is displayed in the WL3 format so that all camera feeds have a consistent look and feel. WL3 can also record video based on an event and/or send e-mails or text messages. Recorded videos and snapshots are categorized and can be viewed anytime you log in, locally or over the Internet. WL3 continually monitors your home and can inform you of events such as the alarm system being disarmed, or a car entering the garage. Furthermore, WL3 is customizable and allows you to change the user interface by applying different graphic and color schemes, add RSS feeds, weather, sports, news, personal blogs and more. Although it looks good, it really is just a revision of Web-Link II. The IE interface is nearly identical and it is still and Classic ASP web site. They replaced the video capture with IP camera capture which looks really nice. My main issue is they are giving no discount for upgrading from Web-Link II. So last year I spent $300 on Web-Link II to now spending $325 to "updrade" to WL3 to get an iPhone interface and IP cameras. It a tough choice now that you can get the H@me native iPhone app for free eliminating one of the major features I wanted to get WL3 for. IP cameras are nice but I have none yet.

BTW Web-Link II runs just fine on WHS. It looks like that only thing specific to WL3 on WHS is the console add-in that sets up WL3 which is simply a stand alone app in WL2.

Really H@me stole the thunder for this app for me.

I have a client with standard cameras and a WLII setup. I upgraded him to WL3 and he wants to convert his cameras to IP. Can anyone recommend hardware to do this that is reasonably priced?
