HAI Omni Pro II and wireless water alarm question

Hi all. I have the HAI Omni Pro II with 64-zone wireless receiver and was wondering if there is an easy to instal (wireless) water detection alarm to locate near a sump pump. I also have the dealer software.

I looked on the HAI website under "Wireless Accessories" and all they had was a water temperature sensor...not what I need.

Thanks!!

The HAI wireless receiver only works with HAI products.
You can wire the contacts from a water sensor to an HAI transmitter.
The 46A00-1 has three zone transmitters.

Couple other options - buy the 64 channel HAI wireless receiver for GE devices. Then you can use GE/ITI/CADDX/UTC water sensors and smoke detectors but thats pricey. GE is now UTC - previously they bought CADDX and ITI so part numbers vary.

You can buy 1, 2 or 8 zone GE wireless receivers that work great with HAI and can be used at the same time you are using the HAI wireless receiver. That will let you add in the water sensors. You can look up the Quick Bridge Loop Receiver ITI 60-660-95 or CADDX 8016 or ITI 60-760 for just a couple zones.

Thanks for the input guys. I really was hoping there was a simple yet cost effective way to do this (to compete with the $10 first alert water alarm that just sounds when it detects water)

It sounds like it might be more than I want to tackle to make it interact with my HAI system.

I should have asked earlier but... There's no way to run a small (22/2) wire from near the sump pump to the HAI system? No phone lines nearby, etc...

Run the contact output from the sensors and wire them to the terminals of the HAI wireless transmitter.
That's about as cost effective as you are going to get.

The $10 solution is just a battery, a couple of resistors, a transistor, a piezo sounder and some copper contacts.
Velleman sells one as one of their mini kits for a few dollars. Look at the schematic to see how simple it is.

When you start adding wireless RF communications, communications protocols between the processor and transmeiiter/receiver, etc., you are adding costs.

Since you allready have the receiver, you have the most expensive part.
The 3 zone transmitter I posted can be had for $30 or so. That's around $10 a zone.
Add some GRI 2600 contacts for ~$12 each, and a $5 12VDC wallwart to power them, and you are very cost effective and a much better system than the $10 sounder.

Since HAI doesn't make a ready made wireless water sensor, you have to do a little work
But with just a little effort I think you can get where you want to be.
