HAI OPII and Liftmaster 8500 Jackshaft interface?

So I am told there is no way to interface the Liftmaster 8500 jackshaft garage opener with the panel. I currently have a panel relay setup with an older liftmaster but would really like to upgrade to a pair of 8500's to save space. Can anyone help?

I've seen posts about those models before.  I believe most people are opening them up and soldering a couple of wires across the switch terminal to simulate the button press.  You then activate it with a relay.

If the wiring is a problem, you can also use the same technique on a remote.  One remote will handle three Liftmasters.
