HAI UPB Dimmer Switch/Non-Dimming Mode/Under cabinet Lights

In my kitchen I have under cabinet lighting. The light switch runs to a transformer and then the transformer runs to the various lights under the cabinet. (I am assuming this means that lighting is low voltage). Can I control that light with an HAI UPB Dimmer in non-dimming mode? I am worried I may blow the transformer or the switch.

I've been using an SA UPB dimmer with my under cabinet lights for about 5 years. And mine dim. It is setup exactly as you describe. I think it's really more to do with the transformer and whether it's dimmable or not. Otherwise I am very happy with the arrangement.

I have LED undercabinet lighting running off of a 24V transformer using SA 1140 dimmers.
It dims perfectly with no humming.

However the dimming range is only about 0-35 on the dimmer for full 0-100% dimming.
Above that there is no discernable diffference in output.
I'm sure it is because the SA dimmer is chopping off the peaks of the AC signal so it needs to get below 60VAC or more from the input signal before the transformer starts to see a reduction in input, due to the resistance (impedance) to turning off from the stored magnetic field in the transformer (Lorentz ?).

I just readjusted the dimming steps in the controller so 35 is the equivalent of 100, etc. So when I bring them up at night they are at level 10, which is something like 40% brightness.
They do dim all the way down to about level 3m, which is probably ~10% brightness or less.

Yes, you can use the HAI dimmer with that load in non-dimming mode. And you don't necessarily have to have the non-dimming switch -- the 600W non-dimming switch and the 600W dimmer are actually the same thing, just configured differently at the factory. If you have a dimmer and you want to change it to non-dimming mode, or vice versa, you can do that with Upstart.
