Help! Cannot arm system

i've been using PC Access today and I've been trying to set up a doorbell as a Trouble zone (Zone1).

for some reason, i cannot arm the system anymore.

i press "AWAY" (or Night, Day, etc.), put in the code, it beeps 3 times and returns to "SYSTEM OK".

When i trip any zone, the console does not report it and it doesn't beep.

Dont know what to do!

i did power down the system and remove the battery to reset it. the last thing i see in the event log is a system reset (via PC Access).

if i check the status of the system (keypad or pc access) it will show a particular zone not ready or secure as it should (if i open a door for example, i'll see not ready). No beep at the console though.

Do you have your system programmed to beep the console when a zone is not ready? It will not beep at console if you don't have it programmed to do so.

the setting to beep at the console is on. i cannot even arm the system right now. i put in the code and it just beeps at me 3 times... :)

reset EEPROM seems to have worked... more information in the morning...

and PC Access seems to do something to it when i "write to the controller".
argh.

Are you saying that you have code in to beep the console when a zone is not ready? To make the console beep when a zone is not ready, you need some code such as follows. Consoles will not beep unless you have code to make them beep in response to a condition such as....

WHEN Garage Door NOT READY
THEN All Consoles BEEP 2

This code will cause all my consoles to beep 2 times whenever the Garage Door is opened.

Not sure what your other problems may be on arming the system. Some settings must be wrong somewhere.

Actually, I'm talking about "Entry Chime" and "Perimiter Chime". Whenever I open a door when the system isnt armed, I get a quick beep from the Console. No programming required.

I did the "Reset EEPROM" command and have been systematically going through PC Access again to set things up, to see if I can identify where things when wrong. So far, everything is back to normal.
