I bought a 4ydm used from someone on the CQC site a long while back. I bought it with the intention of installing it at my parents house. It's never worked right, but I had problems getting my 1YDM unit tweaked so it would work, so it hasn't really concerned me that much.
Well I finally dusted it off and tried to get it working today. It turns on and says there are no errors on the device. I can also connect to it just fine and the CQC driver seems to work fine. I also uploaded a new grouping configuration file using YTools for Windows. That file loaded just fine and was confirmed on the 4YDM screen.
What I cannot do is get some sort of output from the 4YDM. It has 16 high bandwidth cards with 4 connectors on each card (8 for inputs and 8 for outputs). With the config file I loaded, it groups the 4 inputs/outputs of each card together into 1 input of output.
The power supply does hum a little when I turn it on. I haven't noticed that with other units, but I am no expert. I also measured the voltage of an input I was using and it was around 1.2volts. The output when switched to that input only shows about 1/3 that value or .41 volts.
I have another 4ydm with a smaller power supply. I could swap the supplies, but I am a little concerned that the size isn't the same. I certainly don't want to make things worse.
I'd love any advice or suggestions on what to do or look at next.
