Homeseer vs. CQC?

I am in the same boat right now looking for a solution for my busness. I like Homeseer nice packaging nice hardware great for the Green houses we are doing. I think I could really resell this easly and intragrating looks simpler than CQC, speed means money to me. However it will not work 100% with HAI so that is a deal breaker for me. I think I am going to have to play with CQC. Both look like great products I just hope the programming is not to much with CQC to get interfaces the way users want. We sue to get beat up all the time with the philips products on that. Now the market is even more demanding wanting real time feeds email home control on one touchpad.

If you standardize the hardware then the programming side of cqc wont be bad at all. for an example look at the squeezecenter driver and templates over on the cqc forums.

I'm trying to evaluate the main stream players to decided on my first software system. I'm looking at Housebot, CQC, and Homeseer. Threads like this one are of tremendous value in my search.

Elve seems to be on a pretty good roll. My questions is will it support Ocelot?

Thanks.

He said he is going to work on one as soon as 1.0 is released...I am waiting for that myself. The more that ask the faster it will happen I imagine

Our priority has been on more modern devices and until recently we hadn't had much demand for Ocelot support. Since the demand has been increasing we will certainly be taking a look at it after the version 1.0 release this Summer.

If anyone else is interested in developing the driver please let me know as that would qualify for a free Elve Professional license through the device driver development incentive program.

John, I agree with you the Ocelot is getting long in the tooth, but it has certain things going for it that are rather unique, including the Secu and Relay modules. Another thing going for it is that it is super reliable and easy to use.

There is always the possibility that ADI will at long last get it's replacement on the market, code named the Firecat. They have been silent on that for several years now.

Thanks for your response.

Not to get too far off topic but I did send ADI an email a week or two ago in regards to the Ocelot and never heard back. I wonder how actively they are supporting their products these days.

They visit their forum from time to time to answer posters with a problem.

Don't forget Elve, which has robust support for Global Cache, ZWave, Elk-M1, and is by far the easiest product to use compared to the products mentioned above, having the smallest learning curve and quickest getting started time. Granted, I work for the company that makes Elve, but I think you will agree as many other have if you try each of the products.
I've been beating these forums to death for a while now, trying to figure out which software to adopt. I just couldn't get comfortable with the mainstream players, each for a different reason, including my skill level.

Then, I saw the announcement on this forum from John Hughes about the new 2.0 version of Elve and decided to give it a try.

After working with the trial download of Elve for about a week now, I would highly recommend putting it in your mix of things to seriously consider. My reading is that it will give me the robustness I want at a skill level I can handle.

Unlike John, I don't work for the company that owns Elve. But, I've sure driven them crazy with questions this week and the support has been nothing short of phenomenal.
