I'd prefer wired myself. But not at the cost of all the drywall repair that it would take if I did it myself or at the cost of the professional installer.
With wireless I can still be confident in the system and though the sensors cost more my total install cost is less. As for the screens, thats a good idea but, not all of my sliding windows have screens. I found I leave them closed 99.999% of the time and removing the screens has a better appearance. Also, how would you run the wires for them anyways? I'd still have the same problem with how to route the wires down to the crawlspace.
