How to teach RZCOP your network if using Elk?

I can't seem to find any manuals; If i'm using the RZCOP via the Elk, how do I teach it my network? I have one of those Leviton handheld programmer thingeys, but I don't see how I set a learning mode on the RZCOP to get it to learn.

You KNOW I'm all ears on this one, having recently bought that + an M1XSP... Both are still in the box.

Hey

Looking @ the instructions, step 3C followed by 3G may be where it is able to accept the transfer from the hand held device. I don't know why it needs to be "included" into the network - the M1XZW never needed that... (best that I remember)

Actually mine is also a VRCOP, i just forgot that #. Thanks for the link, i swear i looked for it, didn't see it before

Your welcome!
Note that the link is to a RZCOP - I can't find one for the VRCOP. As it turns out, mine came with a manual and it is slightly different than the RZCOP. Mostly stuff on the second page which includes pinout diagrams for the two cables. The step 3 part appears identicle.

Here is the VRCOP manual that came with mine

Hmmm. Well I got the VRCOP included and updated, now to figure out how to actually tell the Elk i've got a Vizia RF. I see the Globals.Special section with the UPB info, but not anything about zWave.

Start adding lights under the lighting section - I think this is where you can tell it you are using a serial-style controller, although it might not specifically say anything about Zwave. Someone else hopefully can be more specific.

yep, that was it. Very troubling results, i'mgoing to start another thread under the Elk section....

ok this is a good one because i have been asking something similar for some time and haven't really had any answer yet. let me tell you the leviton side and then maybe you can elaborate on the elk side.

to program the network to a rzc0p or the newer vrc0p (which is the same thing but newer firmware) you can follow the directions in my manual at Total Control Iphone - Itouch Z-Wave Manual.

Start at #1 on page 2. follow instructions from there. the instructions are detailed and step by step so it should suffice.

what i want to know is can you use the elk to program the serial controller without requiring the leviton master remote vrcpg. has anyone been able to do this?

The VRC0P-1LW functions as a secondary controller not primary controller - you have to have a primary controller to add the devices to the network and then transfer them to the secondary. It does not have to be a Leviton Handheld you could use an ACT ZTH100 or any other handheld - you could probably even use an HA07 haven't tried that though as it is a very basic remote with old firmware but in theory it should work.

i am looking for someone who actually tried other remotes. i know the theory part already...can you actually attest to another remote?

Should I try replicating from my Intermatic one? Thing is, the way the manual says to replicate, you have to put the secondary into "learning mode", then xmit. I can putz around, but not sure how i'd actually do that with the RZCOP.
