HP 24" LCD Diagnostic Help

So I have replaced this one with an Asus 24" LCD. The HP worked for about 1.5 years. I kept it to see if I could fix it. It continues to work if I use a flashlight to see the display graphics.

When I first turn it on it displays fine for about 2 seconds or so; then the screen goes dark.

Anyone have experience with similiar. I am guessing that maybe its a "bad caps" thing for the power supply.

If you can still see the video with a flashlight. You may want to look at the back-light inverter board or the tubes themselves.
Though I still see many capacitor things on the bad caps forums. They even ave a whole section just on computer displays.

Yes I like Chris over at bad caps dot com. He has repaired a MB for me. He has done well. The forum is very informative. Thank you. I've typically just thrown away defective LCD's and wanted to try and fix this 24" LCD.

Once out of the case it really does have a small footprint that would make a nice "picture frame" of sorts so I am "goofing" with it a bit. It looks rather new inside and nothing obvious right now relating to a bad PS/caps. Next steps are looking at the inverter and inverter PS in detail.
