ignoring zone prior to arming

I remember there being a way to ignore a zone prior to arming the Elk. I looked through the manual but did not see anything.

I essentially have a motion detector that I want to temporarily ignore so that I can arm the system faster, and not have to stop moving so that the motion stops detecting.

Thanks.

I think that setting the zone to "interior follower" will take care of it.

From the installation manual:

Burglar Interior Follower - For motions detectors, interior doors, etc. which may be in the keypad or entry pathway.
If an entry delay zone is violated first, this zone will delay (Follow) also, otherwise it will create an instant alarm.
This zone type IS NOT ACTIVE during the STAY, STAY INSTANT, NITE, and NITE INSTANT arm modes.

I think you're actually going to want to make that motion sensor zone "force armable" instead. See page 32. The interior follower definition is relevant when disarming whereas force armable is relevant when arming.

Yep. I believe it's a just a checkbox when you are editing that zone.

Edit: note that arming when a force armable zone is violated might require you to enter a user code to arm. I believe I've seen this written before, but not sure if that can be changed in RP or has been changed in any newer firmware.

Unless things have changed in the firmware, you have to enter a user code to arm when force arming. However... you should be able to get around that, if you want, by assigning an F-key to the task. I know that I can bypass and force arm via rules when using my keyfob to arm.
