SmartHome has a new LED bulb out with Insteon built into the bulb. That could be fun around the holidays for prop lighting.

Seeing as 60 watt LED bulbs usually cost around $20, you make a good point.
Hopefully the new Micro Dimmer and Micro Relay will be cheap.

I'm not much of an Insteon fan, but this certainly looks like it might open up some possibilities. Imagine if they could adapt this to a reflector or spot type track light bulb. One could have individual access to track lights. I can think of other possibilities in my own installation that are not remote controlled for various reasons that this type approach could solve.

I called Smarthome to ask about some details...LED manufacturer, driver manufacturer, color temp....No clue...

When in use, INSTEON LED Bulb emits a subtle buzzing noise that is barely noticeable. However, when several bulbs are installed in a single location, the buzzing may become more apparent.

Unfortunately, this is sort of typical of Smarthome which makes me a bit leery also. I've sent a lot of Smarthome stuff to the land fill in the past.
