I have an Elk M1G panel with two keypads by our most used entrances. I don't have a keypad in my master bedroom or anywhere in the back of the house. I've noticed when testing the Elk M1G it doesn't announce which zone triggered the alarm. I can tell from the keypad display which zone triggered the alarm. I am running HomeSeer 2 with the UltraM1G plug-in. I'm interested in what methods most people use to determine which zone has triggered an alarm if the alarm is triggered in the middle of the night?

I thought that the Elk eventually announced where the zone violation was, in some part of the announcements - but that's why I have and always recommend a keypad in the bedroom. I'm sure you could also accommodate this via rules but honestly I've never attempted to program in my own prompts to play during the alarm messages so off-hand, I can't say how/when it'd insert your own messages.
