Lamp module with local ability to turn off?

Hi all,

I have recently set up a simple X10 system at home and am quite happy with it at the moment. Unfortunately one component I am still not happy with, and that is an LM465 lamp module that I purchased for the reading light that is near my bed. The idea was that it would automatically turn on late in the evening (11:30 pm) and then I thought that I would be able to just turn it off at the lamp before I went to bed. Unfortunately, I cannot turn it off locally (obviously) without meaning that I must turn it on at some point again the next day (and then also turn it off via X10) so that it can be turned on via X10 commands the next evening. What I am wondering is there some kind of modification I can make to the LM465 or perhaps a different lamp module altogether that would allow me to have a local switch on the module to turn it off without actually turning the actual lamp off and thus disabling the ability to turn it back on via X10 commands? In other words, a modification that just allowed me to emulate an X10 off command on the module itself would be great.

Thank you
Misha

You could place a palm pad (HR12 I think it's called) or an MT10 (digital alarm clock) with X10 buttons on the bedside table and use that to turn off the lamp.

I have a palm pad on the headboard (used double sided tape) that allows me control of lights, bed warmer, ceiling fan and TV.

The beauty of using the palm pads is you can then setup an event (if you run an automation package) to slow dim the light to off. Using HomeSeer I have a palm pad that slow dims both my and the wifes lights from 100% to 0% in 30 seconds. This way you have ample time to get in bed and get comfortable.
