Looking for a new thermostat

I finally need a new thermostat. I have two OmniStats, and one has just broken (again). They're too expensive to replace. Plus, getting the serial to work on them has been difficult (I haven't gotten my computer to talk to it yet). I want something Ethernet or WiFi controlled now (no ZigBee, ZWave, or serial). However, I do not want it to connect to the internet. I have no interest in Honeywell or Nest knowing exactly when I am home or away or how much my energy bill is. I want it to be locally controlled only and preferably with a REST API of some sort. Does such a thermostat exist? I am implementing my own system with Raspberry Pis, and etc, so I don't have a professional controller system.

I think I've found it: Radio Thermostat CT80 WiFi 7-Day Programmable Thermostat It has excellent reviews and a JSON API!

I won't be using the internet features. I will only be using it on my local network (my own local server, not theirs). If it does that without my permission then I will block it with my router.

I use these and they work fairly well.  Not all of their API is "workable", but enough to control it as you desire.  Their free App is pretty good, you should look at it...
