My house has an older 4 wire intercom system by M&S DMC1. I am able to play music through out the house perfectly. I am also able to use the intercom on the base station to talk to the rooms. However none of the rooms are able to intercom at all. I have checked the wiring and can see no obvious shorts or mis-wirings. Any ideas? I thought it might be a transformer in the base station but don't know how to test that. I would love to ditch the system and go with a new solution, but rewiring the 4 wire to cat5 would be a large undertaking.

Yes, I have checked on the master to ensure all units are turned on. I have even turned them all off, and turned one at a time on. With the units in Radio/Int mode I can page from the master to all units but not back from the units to the master. With the units in Int mode, I can't page from the master or the units.
