I am a big supporter of the HAI / Leviton Omni Line!
And It just may be time for them to come out with the next Gen. At least for the Pro Line.
Would be nice to have added features that really didn't exist when the Pro II came out.
A few things that I see at this point.
Time for the main board to be a lot more net work friendly. The LAN onboard should be able to do messaging and IP control. A lot of items that we have added via serial port can also be controlled via IP. Running out of Serial Ports won't be so bad then. This would lead to less wiring in the home. I.E. (Whole Home Audio), Some lighting sources (Lutron and such) can already be controlled via IP. For Green Ideas Most of our TV's & Stereos are now on our local Networks too, for a Green Idea the Ability to send Off Commands or other over LAN Would also be nice or other commands. A way to shutdown the home when arming the alarm. It looks more and more items in the home are now talking on the home network so being able to control via a single automation device would be a huge Plus.
Being that iPhones are common with automation having the ability to send Push Notifications to out phones (Utilizing Snap-Link) as an option over just sending text msg. can be a plus for some! Not an android user so don't know if it uses push in the same way. With Text msg it works but sometimes I just like having Push over it and it seems Quicker at delivering a msg to the phone.
We have been able to do a lot of this via 3 party items (haiku) and such. I just think that it is coming to that time we if we want to be more Green / or have more control having to depend on, having a running computer is really not the way to go.
Would love to see other ideas that people would have on this thought.
