Migrating from isy99i to isy994i

Thinking about migrating over to an ISY99i4. I know it supports Zigbee products but does Zigbee play nice with Insteon in the same environment?

The ISY994i supports Insteon, X10 and Zwave simultaneously, but not Zigbee.

Zwave takes a hardware module addition that fits inside the case.

You can get a ISY994i ZS Zigbee model but it then can't take the Zwave module.
It also has a limited number of Zigbee devices it can interface with. Mostly related to Smart Grid Power & Energy  Management

If the isy994i only supports a select few Zigbee devices then I'm not gonna worry about it. The reason why this was a consideration is I have access to several Zigbee devices. Is there any real benefit to switch from a 99i to a 994i?

Yes, as the 99i is no longer supported.  So, if SmartHome adds any new devices or changes anything in the existing devices, the 99i would no longer be compatible.  So, if you had a device failure and replaced it, the new version of firmware on the replacement device may not work for you.  There is still a good sale & discount on upgrades.

Yes as pointed out. Due to memory space limitations. The firmware for the ISY99i was stopped at 3.3.10 and it does not support the newer  Insteon Modules.
The ISY994i is up to 4.2.8 and it is RC3. So it is close to being an official release.

That was another concern since the isy99i was discontinued last year. I haven't been paying attention to insteon in awhile so I haven't researched any new products.
